Premier BHLA full slate of games saw action packed excitement as the teams hit the home stretch of the regular season. With the teams crammed so close together every point is crucial and a win may mean the difference between second and sixth. So what transpired over the week that was here is a quick run down.

Saturday June 16 in Niagara
The travelling Toronto Polar Bears wish they went straight pass the rink on this day. The Generals fire a dozen plus one and come away with a 13-3 victory. Ian Downes notches five points in the one sided victory. Niagara now travels to Toronto to face the Express and Bruins to end the regular season.

Saturday June 16 in Oshawa
A pair of goals from Bobby Dourmissis saw the visiting St. Michael’s BHC come away with a 6-3 victory over the hosting Bruins. St. Mike’s continues to hold on to a top four seed and a schedule of Express, Hawks and Orangemen make the final two weeks crucial as the team battles for seeding.

Sunday June 17 in Oakville
The hottest team in Premier made a trip to Oakville and fired a half dozen in a 6-1 victory. Paul Zarnett picks up the win for the Mississauga Hawks and Dave Spadea finishes with three points as the Hawks continue to climb the ladder up the standings.

Monday June 18 Downsview Arena
Two old rivals met once again as the Brampton Express and Toronto Thunder played their second meeting of the season. A 4-1 victory by the Express continues to see the Thunder struggle with a short bench. The Thunder still has their sights set on a top three finish.

Vaughan Red Wings faced off versus the Metro Orangemen in a battle of the youngest teams in Premier. The VRW finished off their sweep of the Orangemen as they sneak out a 5-4 victory on a Rob Shilton last minute goal.

Wednesday June 20 Al Palladini CC
The Toronto Thunder looking to get back on the right side of the win column shut out the Metro Orangemen 2-0. Paolo Celebre and Paul Duarte bulge the twine and Nelson Medeiros gets the shutout. The Orangemen continue to lose close games down the stretch.

A close game saw a powerplay goal from captain Will Trougakos gave St. Michael’s a 4-2 victory over the visiting Niagara Generals. St. Mike’s now takes both meetings over the Generals this year. A possible QF meeting in the making here.

Break up the Mississauga Hawks!!! A fifth straight win this time a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Polar Bears. With only weeks left the Hawks are close to a top three seed after a slow start. Goaltender Paul Zarnett is stellar in the victory.

Wed June 20 Woodbridge Memorial Arena
Vaughan Red Wings shutout the Oakville Rangers 5-0 as they continue to lead the Premier division. The Wings outscored the Rangers 14-1 in there two game series. Matt Benjamin posts the shutout and his third consecutive victory.

Brampton Express fire six goals as they beat the visiting Oshawa Bruins 6-3. Matt Martello, Frankie Giustini and Shawn Hannon all light the lamp as the Express soar pass the Bruins. Express keep up the hunt for the top seed chasing down the Vaughan Red Wings.
