GT Tier_IIEach season the Tier 2 division rewards individuals who excel at their various positions. The decision making is difficult as there are many deserving recipients. Here are your 2014 Tier 2 award winners.

Coach of the Year
The Top Coach leading his club to a 9-2-3 regular season record and a division title is Vito Lagani of the Falcons. This no nonsense head coach has his players firing on all cylinders every night. The brains behind the operation the Falcons and Vito look forward to many more rewarding seasons.

Top Defenseman
This session’s Top Defenseman is awarded to a quick defender who also sports a big shot and an offensive side to his game. He plays mega minutes for his club and is thrust into all pressure packed situations. The winner is David Armata of the Toronto Pirates.

Top Goaltender
Impressive with his acrobatic play and outstanding stats, he compiled a 9-5 record with a 1.86 GAA, 4 shut outs and a .910 save percentage, the winner as Top Goaltender is Jeff Thatcher of the Toronto North Stars.

Top Forward
Leading the Falcons to a division Championship and finishing second in league scoring the Top Forward is awarded to Rob Angiolella. This dynamic player excels at both ends of the rink but it’s his offence that makes him a top forward. This young superstar has a bright future and the sky’s the limit.

Presidents Award
The President’s Award is granted to an individual who shows passion, dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season. This veteran recipient excelled in all categories. The award goes to Fab Didiano of The Big Bastone.

Leading Scorer
Compiling an outstanding 26 points in his inaugural season in the GT Tier II division Michael Santini of the Toronto Pirates led all scorers with 10 goals and 16 assists. Michael will be a dominant scorer for years to come.

League MVP
Being regarded as the best player of a division takes a special individual, a player that brings his all to the table every night and exemplifies the characteristics of a true leader both on and off the floor, a player that leads by example and has the passion and desire to lead not only his club but the division to the next level. This year’s League MVP is George Nistas of the Toronto North Stars. Congratulations to all this year’s award winners and all the members who participated in the 2014 Summer Greater Toronto Tier II season.
